What Will You Celebrate?

So as the busy summer is coming to an end, School is over, I've graduated and my sister just tied the knot last month... It's time to Celebrate!!! Where is the best place to do that you ask?

DISNEY WORLD!!! My happiest place on earth...

My husband and I fly out in 36 days and will be there for 9 nights and 10 days.. We will also be celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary while we are down there. So I am anxiously counting down the days. You will slowly discover my obsession for Disney as you get to know me and read my blog.. I am pretty sure on an average day I think about Disney 10 hours of the day.. While I am at work I log on to http://www.d-cot.com/ and listen to Disney music all day and then I usually look up Disney recipes and try and re-create them at home for dinner while picking out a Disney movie to watch that night.

I am one of those Disney freaks that tears up at the sight of a Disney World commercial... or thinking about walking through the gates at Magic Kingdom taking it all in. The smell of the bakery on Main st. while seeing people shop their Disney hearts out in the Emporium. Watching people get their picture taken in front of the castle. Or seeing a little girl dressed as her favorite princess and the expression on her face as she sets her eyes upon Cinderella and waits in line to get her autograph and picture taken. Those are the moments that make long lasting impressions of the Magic Disney has to offer and that is what keeps me coming back for more.

I have been making preperations for this trip for at least 4 months now and have made 8 dining reservations all around the park and am so anxious to try out some new dining experiences with my husband. We are even going to make it to Typhoon Lagoon and Universal Studios and check out Wizardly World of Harry Potter... This trip is going to be the highlight of the year and I can't wait!!

Spring Fever

I have had a major case of Spring Fever the past few days. It just keeps raining sometimes snowing and just plain cold. So I thought I would do a little eyemakeup look inspired by Spring time. Hope you enjoy!!
I put a bright lime green on the lid and then a soft brown in the crease and then added a copper brown in the outer V to deepen the crease up. I also added a highlight the the brow bone and the inner corners of the eyes. Applied liner and mascara and that's all. :)

My Work Day Look

So I dunno about you but the last thing I want to do is get up extra early to do something half way decent with my eye makeup. So I am going to show you a few pics of a pretty basic neutral eye look that I do at least 3-4 days out of the work week. It seriously takes me less than 5 min to do and I love it.

-I use a eye shadow base primer
-Then I pat on my fav neutral shade on the lid which is "Tempting" by MAC
- Next I get a matte shade that is close to my skin tone and blend it in the remaining eye space and blend into the lid just a little so there is no definite lines.
- Lastly I use a shimmery highlight color for my brow bone and apply some eye liner and mascara and whala.

Here is the end results .....

Best Eyeshadow Colors for Blue, Brown and Green eyes

So did you ever ask yourself what color of eyeshadows look best to compliment your eyes? Well I have compiled a list of colors that I came across in my makeup class at school.
Brown Eyes: For those of you that fall in this category you have a plethera of shadows to choose from, you really can't go wrong with any colors if you have brown eyes you can use two or three tones of eyeshadow but three tones are better. Lighter colors than your eyes will make your eyes look more natural and darker shades will make your eyes stand out for a more dramatic look.

Blue Eyes: If you have blue eyes here is what colors look best for you. Gray violets, taupe, purple, and deep blue. Many have found using a dark shade of blue will actually bring out the more natural blue tones in your eyes; giving you a brighter and more vibrant look.

Green Eyes: For you green eyed gals try different browns, chocolate tones. Browns and dark greens with copper or gold highlights are also a great choice.
Apricots and taupes are good choices for highlighters.
Dark purples, plums and metallics work too. Coppers and golds will make a really glamorous evening look.
(I know Taylor Swift's eyes are blue but those colors will work just fine with Green eyes too)

Guideline to the Eyeshadow Application Process
If you are going for the complete look (lid, crease and highlighter), apply the lightest color (shimmery taupe or bronze) to the entire eyelid all of the way to the edge of the eyebrow. Then use a darker color from the same color family (i.e. deep brown) to the crease and dust a highlighter (a shimmery white or pale color) just beneath the brow. For those of you with mature skin try to stay away from anything shimmery or sparkly it will really emphasize on any wrinkles or lines you have and make them stand out more which is probably not something you want, stick with matte colors.

Finally don't forget to blend. You can never blend to much. The goal is to eliminate any harsh obvious edges of color. Remember, lighter colors highlight and darker colors recede and add depth and shading.

Most importantly Have FUN !!!! :)

Urban Decay - Alice in Wonderland

My Valentines Day gift came early, last night when I came home from school I was flipping through my Sephora magazine and pointed out the New Urban Decay book of shadows the Alice in Wonderland limited edition and hinted to my husband if he needed an idea for a gift. I went into the kitchen to fix something to snack on and when I came back to sit on the couch there it was.. sitting on the coffee table and my husband smiling at me saying he couldn't wait any longer to give it to me!

Check back soon to see a look I did using these shadows !!!
